Matthew New Memorial 7s  (Braintree 7s) returns on 5th August 2023!

Matthew New Memorial 7s has been running since 2010 and is probably the biggest sevens in Essex. Named in memory of an ex-player at the club, who passed before his time.

The team at the sevens try to bring Matthew’s joy for life back for one day each year so that everyone can enjoy a fantastic day of sevens in his memory. Each year the event has grown and with a large tent and live music now all part of the party.

Look out for the South African inspired braai if you are looking to get your protein fix, you will often find Ruan Holt somewhere nearby who is the true pied piper of this event. My final tip is to look out for the Low Fat Milk guys, they are a regular at this event and are almost as entertaining on the pitch as they are off it.

Siege 7s returns on the 5th August 2023!

Hosted by Wanstead RFC! Come and join us at Centenary Field where you will be able to relax, have a beer, listen to some good music and get involved, you will not be disappointed!

We will be running 3 competitions throughout the day, Men’s Open, Women’s Open and Men’s Social all with a cash prize for the winner!

Throughout the day an array of rugby will be on show as well as music and a number of food vendors to make sure you don’t go hungry. After the rugby finishes there will be a bunch of acts performing live late into the night as well as the bar being open.

Find Siege 7s at Wanstead Rugby Club, an up and coming rugby club based in East London with great transport links so no need to worry about transport.
